The MaxBotix MB1033 HRLV-MaxSonar-EZ3 Ultrasonic Sensor operates by emitting ultrasonic waves and measuring the time it takes for the echo to return after bouncing off an object. This time is then converted into distance using the speed of sound. The sensor uses high-output acoustic power combined with continuously variable gain, real-time background automatic calibration, real-time waveform signature analysis, and noise rejection algorithms to provide accurate and noise-free distance readings.
